Why do I need 2-Step Verification to access Direct Deposit information in DelaGATE?

The College requires 2-Step Verification in order to protect your account from unauthorized access should someone manage to obtain your password. The terms of use state that the College is not responsible for loss of funds due to erroneous information. The additional requirement for 2-Step verification adds another layer of protection to your account. If your password is cracked, guessed, or otherwise stolen, an attacker will have a very hard time accessing your account without access to the user's additional verification mechanism. After logging in with your username and password you’ll be prompted to verify your identity—the second step—using something in your possession, such as a mobile phone, backup code or key fob.

When attempting to login you will receive the following prompt:

How do I setup 2-Step Verification so that I can access my Direct Deposit settings online?
Please follow the KB Article entitled 'How to Enable Mobile Authenticate for delaGATE'

How do I get my refund if I don't want to signup for 2-Step Verification?
Refunds for those users without Direct Deposit configured are processed and sent via US Mail. Please ensure your Mailing address is current. It may take an additional 7-10 days of processing to receive your check via U.S. Mail over. If you are not sure how to check your mailing address, please follow the KB article 'How do I verify my Mailing address?'

What if I previously setup Direct Deposit online prior to the enabling of 2-Step Verification and I do not want to setup 2-Step Verification?
If you setup Direct Deposit online prior to August 10, 2018, you were not forced to use 2-Step Verification, although it was required. You will no longer be able to access your Direct Deposit settings online until you have a 2-Step verification method enabled. If you choose not to enable it, you can have Direct Deposit removed from your account by emailing .
Please note that we can only remove Direct Deposit settings, no other changes can be made to your account.

What are the terms and conditions for use of Direct Deposit online?
